Just Summer!

Just Summer is our family-friendly, casual summer series under the stars featuring a wide array of genre-bending artists. Just Summer is perfect for all music lovers; it has broad musical offerings and creates a cool setting for warm Pittsburgh summers! All Just Summer concerts will take place at Ace Hotel Pittsburgh's outside patio. Concert ticket prices are; $25 (cash bar available); $75, which includes a pre-concert, prix fixe family style dinner plus a complimentary signature cocktail all prepared by Whitfield restaurant. (Tickets that include the dinner option are very limited and MUST be purchased by 5PM the Tuesday prior to the concert.)

Ticket Donation Policy

If you are unable to attend a concert but have already purchased a ticket, you may donate your ticket back to Chamber Music Pittsburgh and receive a tax deduction letter acknowledging your donation for the full price of the ticket. In order for tickets to be considered “donated for the public’s use,” all ticket donations must be confirmed by 3:00 PM on the day of the concert. If a weekend concert, all ticket donations must be confirmed by 3:00 PM on the last business day before the concert. Tickets donated after this time will not be eligible for a tax deduction. Ticket donations will not be accepted at the box office on the night of the concert.

Mike Tomaro is a saxophonist, composer, arranger, and educator based out of the Pittsburgh, PA area. He is the Director of the Jazz Studies Program at the Mary Pappert School of Music at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA, a position he has held since 1997. Mike has over 200 published compositions and arrangements. His work in all capacities can be heard on numerous recordings, including four of his own.

Dom Flemons is known as the American Songster, a Grammy Award-winning folk artist, and founding member of the Carolina Chocolate Drops. His new album, "Black Cowboys", on the Smithsonian Folkways label sheds a light on the music, culture, and the complex history of the golden era of the Wild West. The songs presented are meant to take the listener on an illuminating journey from the trails to the rails of the old west. This is a century old story that follows the footsteps of the thousands of African American pioneers that helped build the United States of America.

Christina Pato is a Galician bagpiper, pianist, and composer as well as a member of and educational adviser to Yo-Yo Ma's Silk Road Ensemble as featured in the documentary “The Music of Strangers”. The program, Latina, is a collaboration with Edward Perez that explores the different ways of understanding just one word through just one rhythm. Pato says she was intrigued by the complex meaning of the word Latina in the U.S. and, through music, she wanted to find a way to understand and explain its journey.

Billboard-charting recording artists Chelsey Green and The Green Project tear down all stereotypes of the violin by fusing traditional classical technique with genres including R&B, Pop, Soul, Funk, Jazz, Alternative, Hip Hop and Gospel! The Green Project showcases an innovative twist in uniquely arranged popular songs and enticing original pieces. Tickets are $25 and include snacks from The Livermore. All ages welcome!
