Instrument Lending Library
Founded in 1999 by the East Liberty Presbyterian Church, the Hope Academy of Music and the Arts was first established to provide high-quality training in music, dance, and theater to families with limited resources. Since then, Hope Academy has remained steadfast in its commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive artistic community that fosters personal and artistic growth.
Chamber Music Pittsburgh is an active partner in advancing Hope Academy’s mission, joining forces with the academy to address systemic barriers to arts participation. Since 2016, CMP has collaborated with the academy to provide a free, need-based musical instrument lending library. The library, owned and maintained by Chamber Music Pittsburgh, allows students and families that could otherwise not afford to buy or rent an instrument the opportunity to borrow an instrument to play and learn on. Additionally, participating families receive complimentary tickets to Chamber Music Pittsburgh concerts, further enriching their cultural experience.
