Michael Canton

President

Mike Canton is the producer and host of The Soul Show, one of Pittsburgh’s longest-running radio programs, now syndicated across the country. He is a retired engineer and manager from Westinghouse Electric Company, with mechanical engineering degrees from Brown and Carnegie Mellon.

Robert J Chiu, MD

Vice President

Robert Chiu is a double board certified facial plastic surgeon specializing in aesthetic rejuvenation procedures of the face and neck, and is one of very few specialists who performs the deep plane facelift. Robert grew up in Los Angeles and graduated magna cum laude from Harvard. A classically-trained violinist, he was a past fellow at Tanglewood and the Banff Centre., and his mentors include Robert Levin and the Juilliard and Cleveland Quartets. He has collaborated with Yo-Yo Ma, appeared on NBC’s Saturday Night Live, and participated in the St Bart’s Music Festival. Robert has served on the Boards of Chamber Music Pittsburgh (CMP) and Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra (PYSO), and played with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (PSO) for their Side by Side Concert.

Sun Chang

Secretary

Sun Chang is a pianist, harpsichordist, and educator with a passion for sharing works by underrepresented composers. She is a member of Ensemble Affect and Trio Tailleferre. She received degrees from the Bienen School of Music at Northwestern and Royal Academy of Music in London. Sun’s musical career is eclectic, and she has collaborated with a variety of soloists and ensembles, including: Haymarket Opera, Ars Musica Chicago, ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, Music in the Mountains, Vadim Gluzman, Trevor Pinnock, Utah Symphony, Camerata Chicago, and many others. She is a lecturer at North Park University in Chicago, and is an amateur viola da gambist.

Maureen Angeles

Treasurer

Maureen brings 25 years of experience in the arts, philanthropy, event management, finance, and human resources to her role as Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee at Chamber Music Pittsburgh. Currently the Manager of Special Projects at The Commonwealth Fund, she has also worked for arts organizations such as ARTPOWER, IMG Artists, and Young Concert Artists. She holds a BA in Music from Yale University and an MPA with a finance specialization from the NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. Maureen grew up playing piano in Monroeville and has performed at Heinz Hall with the Pittsburgh Symphony, in recital at the Frick Art Museum, and on WQED FM.

Martha Bonta

Executive and Artistic Director

Martha Bonta’s varied career in classical music has spanned artist management, presenting, producing, and media. She has held leadership positions at several NYC-based artist management firms representing world-class conductors, instrumentalists, ensembles, and vocalists. She has also served as executive producer of live events at WQXR, New York’s classical radio station, where she oversaw live broadcasts and curated and produced events. Martha was director of artistic planning and touring at the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and has held positions at the New York Philharmonic and the Marlboro Music Festival. She holds a B.A. in English literature from Yale University.
