“The best string quartet on the planet […] overflowing with energy and excitement” (The Age) returns to the CMP stage.

The Takács Quartet, which celebrated its fiftieth anniversary just last year, recently completed a robust tour of Europe and North America and regularly collaborates with the leading composers in chamber music.

The Takács brings a lively and resonant program that pairs early works by Beethoven and Brahms with American composer Carlos Simon’s Warmth From Other Suns, inspired by Isabel Wilkerson’s celebrated history of The Great Migration. The Takács are a beloved CMP favorite, and this concert will be the quartet’s eleventh on our MainStage Live series.
